CINCINNATI-October 24, 2000-SDRC (Nasdaq: SDRC), a global supplier of e-business collaboration solutions for the product lifecycle, today announced version 2.0 of Accelis™, its e-business integration (e-BI) solution. Accelis Version 2.0 continues to deliver on the vision to accelerate supply chain business processes through e-business integration. The new release includes performance enhancements and lays the groundwork for future expansion of platform support to include IBM Websphere 3.5, BEA WebLogic, and Sun iPlanet.

"Accelis 2.0 expands SDRC's strategy to provide e-business solutions to the manufacturing marketplace," said Tyler McDaniel, analyst, Hurwitz Group IT consulting firm. "SDRC's process knowledge, combined with its open, standards-based approach enables it to serve the needs of manufacturers as no other vendor can."

Just launched in July 2000, Accelis has already been purchased by Boeing and several other large customers. Additionally, more than twenty-five companies have pilots in process that are evaluating a range of capabilities of the software. The performance enhancements in Accelis 2.0 are being put in place to support customers' planned implementation accessing legacy systems that are connected through Accelis. In addition, release 2.0 contains enhancements to the Metaphase connector, and also lays the groundwork to deliver the Sherpa connector by the end of the fourth quarter.

Accelis consists of three core components. Its foundation is the Accelis Product Knowledge Broker, which contains all the elements to build and deploy solutions. The second component is the Accelis Domain Library, which houses the domains that are required to organize information in terms of predefined business operations, such as transferring bills of material or engineering change orders. The third component is the Accelis Connector Catalog, which houses the connectors that serve as gateways to data sources and feed information to the domains.

"Accelis version 2.0 demonstrates SDRC's commitment to short, aggressive release cycles that deliver cutting-edge capabilities to customers operating on Internet time," said Glenn Wienkoop, president and chief operating officer, SDRC. "As enterprises become increasingly global, due to mergers and acquisitions and their desire for greater collaboration, the benefit they can derive from Accelis grows exponentially."

Accelis 2.0 will be available on November 15, 2000.
