- Initial order includes Metaphase and Accelis™; ties together product data, ERP systems - - 4,200 users to go live in one year -

CINCINNATI-November 6, 2000-SDRC (Nasdaq: SDRC), a global supplier of e-business collaboration solutions for the product lifecycle, today announced a relationship with BFGoodrich Aerospace Aerostructures Group valued at approximately $7.0 million over multiple years. The relationship includes an initial order of approximately $4.0 million for SDRC's Metaphase product knowledge management (PKM) software and maintenance and Accelis™, SDRC's e-Business Integration (e-BI) solution.

BFGoodrich is deploying Metaphase to 4,200 users in one year, at five sites worldwide. Metaphase is being implemented to perform change management via SDRC's MetaChange. Metaphase will manage product structure data including the bill of materials, provide access to released product definition generated by CATIA, and employ the MetaVPDM collaborative visualization component to enable a paperless product definition process. Accelis is serving as the interface between Metaphase (the enterprise knowledge management system) and SAP (the enterprise resource planning system).

"By helping us leverage product definition much more easily across the globe, we are confident that Metaphase will result in substantial business benefit," said Greg Peters, vice president, BFGoodrich Aerospace Aerostructures Group. "It's essential for a company with widely dispersed sites to have flexible and reliable data management, and Metaphase provides the product management tools which support our Enterprise Excellence strategy and goals."

"BF Goodrich selected Metaphase after a comprehensive evaluation of the major vendors in this market space," said George Scarcelli, director PDM/ERP Project Team, BFGoodrich Aerospace Aerostructures Group. "We are convinced that Metaphase is the right choice for us given its breadth of market-leading technical capabilities, combined with its ability to enable return on investment."

"BFGoodrich conducted a world class product, vendor and business case evaluation that resulted in a selection for SDRC," said Bill Weyand, chairman and CEO, SDRC. "Many companies in the aerospace industry continue to face extremely competitive manufacturing requirements, and in today's environment the challenge is to develop better products more quickly than your competitors. Furthermore, with the continued evolution of the Internet, building infrastructures that connect dispersed sites will become more and more critical to meeting this challenge. Metaphase and Accelis provide the technologies that enable the sharing of information across the enterprise, providing the critical link and product knowledge necessary for collaborative product development among dispersed sites. SDRC is pleased to be working with BFGoodrich as they reengineer their processes for success."
