I-DEAS Update Training For C3P Users

The Ford C3P Program and SDRC are pleased to provide you with the supplementary content overlay for latest version of the I-DEAS® Update Training for the C3P8.0 release. This overlay augments and updates the I-DEAS 8 Update Training delivered on CDROM with your I-DEAS software.

For your convenience, the overlay files are available for download in two formats: a shell-script package (for UNIX), and an installation package (for Windows NT). The contents of the two packages are identical. There is also a link to the SDRC C3P8.0 PRI web page at the bottom of this page.

Please note:

  • Be sure to install the I-DEAS 8 Update Training (from CDROM) before installing the overlay files.
  • Read the Launch Script Update to see how to enable the Update Training menu pick in I-DEAS for C3P8.0.

UNIX Installation

  1. Select [ setup.sh ] here for the English version of the update training overlay and save it to disk. This 203 K file installs the C3P8.0 Update Training files, so be sure to save it with execute permissions (chmod 755), or use the sh command to run the script.
  2. Log in as the user who installed the I-DEAS 8 Update Training.
  3. Move to the location of your I-DEAS 8 Update Training installation (usually the $SDRC_INSTL/SDRCHelp/LANG/English/I8_UPDTRG directory).
  4. Run the setup.sh script from the location you saved it to disk (for example, sh .../setup.sh where ... represents the complete path).

    The script will ask you to enter the location of your Update Training software, default is the directory in which you are running the script. Follow the prompts to install the Update Training files.

NOTE: For the Japanese version of the update training overlay, select [ setup_jp.sh ] and adjust the preceding instructions accordingly. Available soon!

Windows NT Installation

  1. Select [ setup1.exe ] here for the English version of the update training overlay and save it to disk. This 1.23 MB file installs the C3P8.0 Update Training files.
  2. Use Windows Explorer to locate setup1.exe, and double-click to run the program. (Note: The installation program may stay at 99% for a minute or two during its preparation. This is normal.)
  3. Follow the prompts to install the C3P8.0 Update Training files. Be sure to direct the program to install to the directory in which you installed the I-DEAS 8 Update Training. (If you installed within the I-DEAS directory structure, that will be at the %SDRC_INSTL% directory.)
