SDRC Powers K&S Connectsm with Complete e-Business Solution for the Product Lifecycle

Kulicke & Soffa, the world's largest semiconductor assembly equipment supplier,
places order in excess of $2.5M for Accelis and Metaphase®

CINCINNATI-December 4, 2000-SDRC (Nasdaq: SDRC), a global supplier of e-business collaboration solutions for the product lifecycle, today announced that it has received an order for SDRC's Metaphase® product knowledge management (PKM) software, Accelis e-Business Integration software, and services, in excess of $2.5 million from Kulicke & Soffa Industries Inc. (Nasdaq: KLIC), the world's leading supplier of semiconductor assembly equipment. The company will use the combined Metaphase and Accelis solution, in addition to its existing SDRC I-DEAS® mechanical design automation seats, to power K&S Connectsm, its e-business model for lowering the cost of ownership, reducing time to market, and moving towards a collaborative product commerce relationship with its customers and suppliers.

Metaphase will support secure selective access to K&S product knowledge and management, I-DEAS will enable on-line collaboration directly with K&S engineers to address customer and supplier requirements, and Accelis will provide the backbone for true collaborative product commerce between K&S and its extended enterprise. With this order, K&S is standardizing globally on Metaphase as its core product knowledge management solution.

"Accelis will allow our suppliers and customers to collaborate in a virtual environment with our engineers, ultimately delivering products to market faster and with higher quality. Having one complete solution was a requirement that only SDRC could fulfill."

"SDRC's solutions will enable K&S to be even more competitive in their market, maintaining their current leadership position.
