SDRC Ships I-DEAS  8m3

- New Version Supports Microsoft Windows® User Interface and Integrated Freeform Modeling -

NASHVILLE, TN-June 11, 2001-SDRC (Nasdaq: SDRC), today announced at the ICCON 2001 users conference in Nashville, Tennessee, the immediate availability of I-DEAS  8m3, an enhancement release of the award-winning I-DEAS mechanical design automation software. I-DEAS 8m3 offers significant new capabilities to enhance the user experience and mechanical design automation process.

ˇ New Customizable User Interface Compatible With Microsoft Windows  I-DEAS 8m3 offers the user the option of customizing the icon layout and pull-down menus to suit user, company, or process specific needs. ˇ Integrated I-DEAS  Freeform For Process Oriented Free-Form Modeling I-DEAS 8m3 integrates I-DEAS Freeform, formerly known as the Imageware products, for complex free-form design, manufacturing and inspection capability. ˇ Enhanced Design, Assembly, Manufacturing And Simulation Features Numerous enhancements have been made to I-DEAS capabilities for part modeling, assembly modeling, simulation pre- and post-processing and FEA solution solvers. Manufacturing enhancements include improvements for mold design and NC toolpath creation.

I-DEAS 8m3 also includes support for I-DEAS® Enterprise release 1.5, planned for release in July, 2001, will have additional capabilities for product visualization and new data migration utilities and capabilities.

I-DEAS 8m3 is currently available to all SDRC customers with Maintenance, Enhancement & Services coverage.
