SDRC Announces SLATE 6.0 with Integration to TeamCenter Collaboration Foundation

- SLATE's integrated requirements management/product knowledge management solution enables visibility to customer requirements throughout product development -

CINCINNATI-June 12, 2001-SDRC (Nasdaq: SDRC) today announced availability of SLATE 6.0, SDRC's requirements management solution, with integration to SDRC's newly announced TeamCenter collaboration product management solution. This is the first integration of requirements with a product collaboration environment - the critical first step in defining regulations, specifications, customer needs, and performance specifications to drive the collaborative product development and management process. Benefits include the ability to enable product development teams to streamline the time needed to configure new products while maximizing reuse content for increased profitability margins. The integration allows requirements developed in SLATE to be linked to data elements inside the TeamCenter Collaboration Foundation. These requirements can thereby be linked to standard product lifecycles, and have a connection back to the requirements source. That connection allows users to trace requirements from the initial source to their downstream impact through the entire life cycle. This gives all users the context they need to be influenced by customer requirements at each step of the product development process, from inception to product disposal.

"It's the customer's requirements that turn data into knowledge when it comes to product development," said Glenn Wienkoop, president and COO, SDRC. "Bringing requirements into the product collaboration and data management world allows us to bring the customer into the development process - enabling the customer to be involved in every design decision. This dramatically increases the ability to hit the customer target and build a product that meets customer expectations. SDRC is the first to bring this capability to market."

SLATE 6.0 will be available at the end of June.
